Art in Progress

I was approached by Eupheus learning to create a series of Art and Craft learning series for grades pre-nursery to fifth. I envisioned this series to be unique intergartion of art and science that ignites both sides of the brain, where art goes beyond its role as a just a subject and becomes a powerful tool for exploration, expression, and knowledge acquisition.

This series seamlessly integrates essential concepts from various subjects, enriching the art & craft curriculum. Through the activities, learning becomes personalised, drawing inspiration from one's immediate surroundings.

A need exists for a significantly improved introduction to Art & Crafts.

Current art education books often suffer from limitations:

  • Restricted creative expression: Activities are primarily instructional, leaving minimal space for students' personal exploration.

  • Subject isolation: Art education remains separate from other subjects, hindering cross-disciplinary learning.

  • Overemphasis on motor skills: Focus primarily lies on developing fine motor skills, even in higher grades, neglecting broader artistic development.

  • Incomplete coverage: Crucial aspects like imagination, observation, real-life inspiration, and art history are often overlooked.

  • Limited vocabulary development: Art-specific vocabulary and historical context are not adequately addressed.

Art-in-Progress is a unique integrated art education program for children that:

  • Incorporates well-designed activities that encourage personalisation and exploration.

  • Seamlessly integrates important concepts from other subjects, fostering a holistic learning experience.

  • Draws inspiration from the students' immediate environment, making learning relevant and engaging.

  • Provides a balanced focus on developing artistic skills like observation, imagination, and exploration.

  • Places a strong emphasis on building art vocabulary and familiarising students with both Indian and Western art history.
